READING
The Reading pilot begins in October with the full support of the Reading Borough Council. Reading's vision is to be a totally e-enabled community by 2020.
Twelve hundred households will be installed with a Homeport within the RG postcode covering a range of household sizes, income levels, ages and technical abilities.
Reading is a demographic mirror of the UK population and provides ideal learning for Homeport's national roll out.
Partner retailers will include both national chains and local specialists. All partnerships will be announced in September.
FRANCE
A pilot will start in Lyon in November 2000.
