A unique chip card owned by each homeowner recognises and releases the correct deliveries. Spare cards can be issued for other household members which can be cancelled by a master card if lost.

Multiple ownership of a single Homeport is possible by issuing each apartment in a building their own unique chip card. No card holder can get access to the goods of another.

The delivery person uses a hand held remote control to plug the cable into the Homeport. Until the homeowner has taken the goods the delivery person cannot remove the cable / box.
